Qualcomm and Rand McNally GPS signal blocked! Please help!

He never said he needed to get back on the road. For all we know he delivered said load and is simply taking his 10.
You posted a very irreverent comment on his question, and got annoyed when called on it. I'm sorry, but the answer to "how do I fix X" is NOT "Use Y". Just because using a GPS scares you doesn't mean it's not a good tool to use.

 

Im sorry you all are having meltdowns over my answer. It was a relevant answer. You all just dont like it. Thats on you, not me.

 

LOL. If that's what you want to believe. Must be nice living in one's own little dream land. Beck in the real world, I could not care less that you are too scared to use a little piece of electronics.

 

Its not being scared dude. Its about accuracy. I have gps in my pickup. Gets me lost all the time. Sends me to the wrong area or what not.

You know what my Atlas has never done? Got me lost. I never got stranded on a bike path in a park in my semi.

You come to the warehouse I work at now and blindly follow gps, you will end up with a $350 ticket. We have drivers come in all the time follwing gps. Takes them down a one lane road with cars on either side and a LEO waiting at the end just to catch him. My atlas never gave me a ticket for being on a non-truck route.

I firmly believe all gps users either are too lazy to read a map or dont know how. Either way. That is on you all.

I’m a big fan of holding a huge atlas up in the air to see my directions while driving. Naw jk

 

Glad you got it fixed. Logic doesnt tell me that you were using at atlas. Too many drivers have navigated by company directions only. I talked to a Swift team that was in Phoenix when they were supposed to be in Minnesota. So dont give me that.

As far as your issue, you might have got it resolved quickeriftou told us you had a cell phone mount.

 

I’m on a dedicated route, the same place every day and I still love using my gps.
It tells me an exact ETA and if they’re any traffic delays.

 

At my previous company they used PeopleNet. After much investigation, I discovered it was the PeopleNet unit itself that was jamming the GPS frequency. Unplugging the PeopleNet unit would allow GPS on my TomTom and on my phone to instantly start working again. Funny thing is, we tried many different units and they all jammed the GPS frequencies.

Sniffing the truck with a handheld spectrum analyzer may point you in the direction of the offending device. Perhaps a previous owner or driver of your truck installed a hidden GPS jammer. It doesn’t take much—it’s a very weak signal to begin with.

 

I use mine even if I am running to the store a few miles away. The speed display on the GPS is easier to monitor than the Speedo on the dash. I like my steering wheel position even if it blocks the speedo while driving.
