It has made you smarter about how you manage your time in order to get the most out of your Elogs, but given the freedom from these restrictions, I would bet you could manage your time to be equally as safe or safer, and more productive as well.

I don't think there's any real appetite for a strike , drivers of today are much different from those drivers in the 70s .

You tell em tiger! I understand both sides of the equation, why they need to clamp down on excessive driving without rest and the dangers that are associated with it, however there is the other side of the equation where legitimate driving can be hampered by some ridiculous rules e.g driver starts time at 07:00 in the morning drives for 5 hours then has a 5 hour break meaning he's stopped at around 12pm then is ready again at 17:00 or 5 pm however he can now only drive till 21:00 9 pm as that's when his 14 hours are up, however so instead of being able to drive for 11 hours he can only drive for 9 hours total a penalty of 2 hours driving time. How would a driver in this situation be a hazard to anyone?

If a strike was the order of the day, you would not need a nationwide strike. Just get half the trucks that would normally serve California, New Jersey, and New York to not go there or even through there for a month. In 3 weeks you could have whatever you wanted.

There is a word for those that think its acceptable to use violence to get what they want. terrorist.

You have the right to strike anytime you want. You do not have the right to use violence and sabotage to force others to follow you. That criminal behavior is exactly what got the teamsters castrated.

The strikes in the 70s were very violent. More than a handful got shot. But what was much more common was bricks thrown through windshields from over passes. Then lots of vandalism. Everything from air and fuel lines cut to tanks sugared.
