ELDs are unconstitutional. We have a right to not incriminate ourselves. And electronic logs force you to adhere to the 14 hour clock, which we can't turn off. This means we will have to drive TIRED from time to time. I'm on final wind-down to quit trucking over ELDs and the ridiculous 14 / 11 / 10 / 30 min. I'm not putting up with ELDs and these idiotic HOS regs. No #### way.

Did an almost 12 hour driving day yesterday was totally dogged but managed the extra 25min drive home regardless. Fatality crash on I85 S (don't believe in 'accidents') had the Atlanta 285 loop backed up BIG TIME last night was deadheading empty and not the only one driving like a complete A-hole!!!
There's plenty of local 'delivery boy' jobs driving an automatic rolloff, dump or step-van not subject to the ELD mandate . . . paid by the hour plus OT many of my new co-workers milk it for all it's worth!!
Apparently Mexicans don't know how to drive (too short?) see many on construction sites but not behind the wheel . . . Boss asked me the other day if had a Class A I just laughed why's that ??? . . .

The ELD mandate isn't the perfect solution, but it might help solve a few problems and I personally hope it will get some of the constant outlaw drivers off the road. I was talking with a guy the other day who said he was going to retire now since he won't be able to do his normal 90-100 hour weeks... and he's a great example (IMO) of the drivers who should stop driving before they kill somebody.

That means it’s uncostitutional that a gas station has to have accurate pumps.

Your freaking out about the first of the first? Calm down driver! If your going to lose it over the first computers for trucks and logging, your not going to get much farther in life....

By that i mean perfect or close to perfection is not the first and last item off the assembly line on Dec. 17. Its years away and lots of testing away from being perfect.

I have to wonder if everyone freaks out this hard for all the firsts of the firsts. The internet and communication via internet is only a couple years old. I still have to wonder....

People have the responsibility to run legal even if they don't agree with law. We can always change the law if needed.

Ooida tried fighting the mandate with an unconstitutional argument, they failed. Try a different argument.... oh wait, too late

The ooida tried to make a lame argument based on bs. They took a half-hearted attempt to fix the elog issues and what the members were crying about.

I have yet to read an accurate and precise argument based on any constitutional issues with elogs. Even ooida attempt was not even close to meeting any conflict with the constitution.

There is no self-incrimination involved, the violations are not criminal in nature and the elog is just another form of hos reporting.

Before any of you complain, the hos is the real problem with all, the cowboys among us are the reason why we have the draconian hos. I want to return it back to the 1962 version where we had the flexibility and the decision making powers.

If you don't like it, then start with voting and talking to your representatives.

    This is what I did.

Because until congress hears from us and decides to do something, the mandate and regulations will stand.
