also , saw a guy on youtube explaining how to trobleshoot the jakes and he said that if there is no code for jakes it means the ECM does not get the signal to kick it and the problem would most likely be between the pedal and ECM

Spare switches are handy to keep with you anyway. If that doesn't fix the problem I would hang on to the old ones.
SAR and Caterpillar Cowboy Thank this. -
called the Peterbilt dealer yesterday to find out that switches are $92 a piece (I mean ... really ?)
anyway I couldn't make it yesterday as they already closed ... will put the spare ones on today to see what happens .
Also checked the batteries and cable terminals for corrosion , cleaned really well but the issue is still there -
Also I've put a winterfront on to see if it helps - nothing .
-
I was wondering , if the brake or clutch switch does not function properly , will it show any codes on the ET or I have to visually inspect them ?

I'll check it out today but I'm sure it might be something wrong with it because it's 40F right now and it works fine till I hit a pothole and it stops . -
Next time you hit a pothole hold up the clutch pedal with your foot and see if that does anything, or if your speedo jumps around.
Then try tapping the clutch with the cruse on and see if it cancels.Caterpillar Cowboy Thanks this.
