So I'm new to trucking. Are they still doing sleep apnea screening for physicals. I had read that they have gone away from that requirement. I went to my physical today and they want me to do a sleep study. I questioned the doctor about it and he said he has not heard anything official. Is this something I have to do or is it just something they want me to do?

Try getting proper nutrition, exercise, and practice deep breathing so that if they do a test you will have no problem, I got me a didgeridoo to help me with my breathing and it works great, you have to learn circular breathing and you can make the strangest sounds while getting that look.

OP when you sleep, do you sleep on your back? Try sleeping on your side or stomach, myself sleeping on my back is what causes me problems.morpheus Thanks this. -

Battlestar Galactica, ugh... Command is always a tad slow on the uptake. If I had a crew like that Id fire em all...
Anyway, there are or has been a industry wide effort to "Weed out:" those with sleep apnea. I don't have it but it is not good to be pulled into the so called doomsday weapon of such a system. -
If doc gave you a 3 month card, then yes you will have to get one.

Get a second opinion. I did. If you belong to ooida call them and ask for help to find a driver friendly doc. Sleep study is not federal dot mandated. Its a money maker scam
