Yeah but I have no idea how to fix that. If they take the cap off days like I requested would have 29 guys out. Yeah pretty sure I am not getting them being the 17th alternate. It does suck being fist alternate or worse 3rd were it is just not you off but the two in front of you have to be let off if you are.
And that is not even considering VTO if we ever get that slow again.

I always put in for three "vacations" at the beginning of the year and walk them back if I have to. Have a trip to Colorado this year so bidding on blocking out last 2 weeks of june first week of July when wife is off as well. I can back off what I do not need later depending on how rebid works out in March.

500 drivers have been fired for cell phone situations at WM. Some were just and others were hobwash.

    There was no unintended consequence.

Texting while driving is illegal, stupid, and the faster we get the people doing it out of the industry the better.

He texted while on driveline. His story is he pulled over real quick and sent it. Story, fictional fabrication to cover up a violation of both FMCSA regulation and Wal-Mart policy when caught. Like the drivers fired when a second phone is discovered.

If you must send a text. Stop the vehicle, shut it off, conduct your vitally important text (no it is not. probably sent LOL to some other inane text) then stay still long enough for the change of status to be recorded(3 whole minutes like OMG), resume the work you should have been doing on the first place.

If only. The number of folks removed for cell phone violation should be that high but it is not. One driver had a fixed object collision causing over 10k in damage and was reinstated by Bentonville on appeal.

If half the drivers were fired that folks claim we would have no drivers at all.

So in other words you not only don’t dispute this, but you allege that the driver in question actually typed his message while moving and only pulled over to push the “send” button?

    Somehow I doubt that...

I’m not convinced he didn’t type the message while he was pulled over, therefore NOT “texting while driving”, which would make his only mistake forgetting to change his log.

That is certainly worth handing a man a pink slip.

If you are in an accident, they will ask for your phone records. Just make sure, if you send a text, that you are not on the drive line. There is plenty of opportunity to talk on the phone when sitting............. at vendors.............. at docs for live unloads............. on your break. The hour is only for the drive line, and you don't want to be doing it during rush hour traffic.

People can complain all they want, but talking on the phone is a huge distraction. It doesn't matter if it is hands free. People drive right by their own house when talking on the phone. I realize that many think they are super trucker, but it is very true. If you are in an accident, and the other party can prove you were on the phone (with your phone records), you will be blamed............... at least partially............ even if it isn't your fault. The arguement being, if your full attention had been on driving, you may have braked sooner, or swerved, or, or. Is it fair?? Maybe not. However, it is the reality of our litigious society.

Anyone who has a second phone to bypass the rules is lying, and lying is one of THE biggest offenses you can do at Walmart.

Think carefully about what Wallywife just said about you having lots of time to talk on the phone when not moving at this place.. she’s right you’ll be parked at docks a lot making a big 14 an hour after 45 minutes.

I used to do distribution in Georgia for them and since the old owner died THESE MFs JUST KEEP GETTING GREEDIER AND GREEDIER!!!
IN ALL INDUSTRIES, NOT JUST TRUCKING THE POWER STRUCTURE (THESE CORPS) KEEP TRYING TO SET NEW LOWERED WAGES, ETHICS, MORALS, BUT MORE WORK, ETC, SO AS TO MAKE AN ATMOSPHERE WHERE THE NEW PEOPLE OF TODAY DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH PEOPLE USED TO GET PAID BACK IN THE DAY!! (I KNOW SOME OF THESE OLD TIMERS ON THIS SITE KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!)
FOR WORKING FOR THESE ESTABLISHMENTS, WISDOM DICTATES, IF YOU CAN COME OUT IN THE GREEN STAY WITH IT!!! I DIDNT MIND WALMART WHEN WORKING FOR THEM, BUT THEY WERE CHEAP AS HELL AND ME AND MY PARTNER DID 3 OR 4 JOBS EACH DAY EASILY!!!
I HEARD DRIVING FOR THEM IN THE BEGINNING WAS REALLY GOOD, THEM AND COSTCO, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT TODAY IN 2017????
THEY ARE TAKING MANY SAFETY CONTROLS OFF, EACH INDUSTRY IS SAYING HOW MUCH IT COSTS, BUT KEEP LOWERING THE PAY!!! CLASSIC GREED!!!!
    PEACE AND BLESSINGS!!!
