Well if the guy did have warrants in California and got caught and thrown in the klink,...well that might be bad for his health???

Butt, he should be okay, as long as he doesn't pick up the soap
in the shower.
Soncho might have a surprise for him.

LOL Now, now, now AfterShock. Be nice.
To protect the man's integrity, I will elaborate just a bit. There is a plant that grows only in California and he is deathly allergic to it.
It was mentioned to us when we first talked to him but we thought his deal had already made it past the Covenant powers that be. He didn't mention it during his training (like Redcoat, he didn't want to mess with his training at all costs) and so just took the chance that nothing would happen. But now that training is finished, he put pressure on the company not to send him to that state and so that created the impasse.
I don't think his refusal to go to California went over too well with the company....
All I know is Redcoat is back out there and hopefully the wheels will again be turnin' soon. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Be NICE?
HeY!
I'm a baaadd man ------->
I have an image to protect,
doncha know.
A wannaBee OTR Big truck truck driver who doesn't want to go to California.
Imagine that.
Don't send me to a state with a LOT of freight movement.
No problem there.
Isn't Covenant a 48 state, irregular route carrier?
Just don't send me to California.
Good GRIEF!
Let him do a steady New York City gig.
I bet his employ with Covenant will be short.
Despite and IN spite of all that Covenant has put the poor chap through.
He must have the patience of Job (Old Testament).

My son is finally seeing the effects of the economic downturn at Covenant, even though he works for the reefer division and they have kept them running hard for months now. There was no load for the 1st week after they came off hometime (the only hometime they took since 1 Aug), then they ran them for 3000 miles in a 1 week period (pretty bad), then last Friday gave them a 300 mile run to GA. They've been sitting since Friday afternoon with no load. Less than 3500 miles in almost 3 weeks! For a team!! That stinks! He is exactly 1 week from reaching his 6 mo post-training retention bonus.....and his co-driver is thinking of quitting and buying his own big truck.
When I talked with him this morning, he was pretty bummed. He has almost no money and at 10:00am they told him to check back at 6:00pm because they had no loads to get them out of GA today. Of course his DM would not be there by 6pm....and the night shift is notorious for knowing nothing at all.
He's trying to stay with them no matter what until his first anniversary with Covenant (April 1), but doesn't know how he can do that if he can't get at least enough miles to live . I suspect with Covenant's multi-million dollar losses the last two years, they may be looking at how to cut back, cut corners, and/or give in the towel. Not looking good. -
OMG.......Things don't sound good at all for Covenant!
Thats where my guy and I were thinking of going when we complete CDL school in 2 weeks........geezzeeee
The crap that truckers have to go through is unbelievable! -
Well I heard from Redcoat this morning. They were in Alpharetta, GA picking up a load going to somewhere in Ohio. Should be around 800 miles or so. They were at the shipper this morning when he called me. They had to do a blind side back in to the dock which Redcoat had never done before so it was a good thing his partner was a trainer. The man is also showing him how to float the gears as that was something his other trainer didn't know how to do or else didn't believe in doing.
MountainMama sorry to hear your son has hit the wall on miles. I know it must be very frustrating for everybody out there trying to make a living and support their families. Does he have his 80,000 miles to get the six-month bonus? If he does, then maybe when he hits the mark next week the bonus will help offset all they days of sitting.
That's all my news so far. -
Tell him to be careful in Ohio the roads are slick and the snow is falling
-
Now you know.
Question is, NOW what'cha gonna do?
Cut bait, or take a chance?
Good luck.

My question is what is a plant that only grows in California??? That makes no sense. The seeds or pods can't blow across the border? Sounds like bovine excrement....
Wife, I am glad he has a partner who can also train him! Good luck to you both!
