Remember when we first got those Vandalia loads, and how great they paid? Funny how those numbers just gradually dropped month by month.

Yeah a lot of cheap rates posted too.
Just like a lot of cheap freight pushers that call me. Love it when they offer me something cheap and I tell them similar loads are posted for double your rate, then me hearing studdering and confusion on the other end of the line lmao!
Only need one good load though, usually at some point a desperate broker will call and pay nearly whatever it takes to get it covered.

It was great in comparison to what else was offered but yeah I know what you're saying and that type of stuff is the main reason I left.

It's the reason many have left and some currently planning their escape.
Schneider likely doesn't care, what's their competition? The endless other flease carriers that pay $1-$1.25 a mile? lol

Bumped into a ups contractor recently, said they're paying him $1.20 a mile.
It's really sad how many drivers are content living in a truck and earning peanuts :biggrin_25513:

    Oh yeah!
The other day I was watching a load, ya know thinking about it a d&h. Well I watch go from that to a live and drop which isn't unusual but then the destination changed too. They turned into a relay in another state and reduced the linehaul rate. They took another.35cpm out of it, LOL. This was on top of what the took out of it for the co. truck picking it up and moving it to relay point. That latter to be expected though.

If they are getting that plus FSC, it might not be a bad gig. Steady route, and while the pay isn't great, it is consistent. That would only be $1.50/mile or so with the current FSC, but there are worse options.

Remember, while we are hoping things continue to improve, they could just as easily go in the crapper and make the spot market look really ugly.
