You are correct. You won't. Flip side is they won't even talk to you when things get sideways. Then it's back to the brokers offering 1.25 on what six months ago was paying 3.40
Luckily, I honestly believe for the next few years we are in for unprecedented times for this industry. Pocket it while you can but remember it can and will put you out of business faster than a owner of a Blockbuster video store.

That same broker would be trying to move that normal $3 a mile load for $1 a mile if they had a chance, say an abnormal amount of trucks in the area and not many loads.

A lot of times a broker is in a bind because they spent too long try to move a load for super cheap and then uh oh the appointment is about to be missed, I better find a truck asap. So they get what they deserve.

If it's a broker I've worked a lot with, has treated me well and paid me well in the past I wouldnt beat them up on a rate, might tell them I'm not interested in the load though without giving a rate.
A lot of these brokers are ruthless liars out to screw the truck driver every chance they get just to save an extra dollar, dunno why some here think playing nice with them on the rates they will treat you nice in return... It doesnt work that way out here, I've learned that real fast.

I seen the same lately.......lots of trucks on off ramps and whatnot. The first thing I thought of was, "wow.....there was a lot of folks running illegal."

Once the smart ones learn how to run an elog then they won't be running out of hours as fast as the rest of the guys. However, elogs will be a problem for the majority though because the majority of drivers can't drive & chew bubble gum at the same time. I also don't feel sorry for the dummies that waited till the last minute to get them & are going to struggle with them. Should've started learning elogs a long time ago when the rule was passed.

Drivers are going to have to learn how to adjust where they may park based on events through the day...these drivers are going to find out driving 10-11hrs every day wont be feasible..

Luckily I started out on e-logs so I'm not overly worried. I haven't found them to be all that detrimental but then again I've never run 2 logs before so.....
