drove by Celadon's main yard here in Indy the other day just to see this supposed equipment that was or is only 3 years old. I live in Indy so I never see it, I guess they take it out of town or something. I observed several freightliners with the old Burlington Stars on them that menas that they are at least 8 years old. I observed quite a few Volvo's still in the fleet, Celadon has not bought Volvos in sevral years. They have been buying Freightliners for the last several years and then they started buying the 13 letter-(you know what) spreaders about 2 years ago(the drivers, in general, are not happy with them) and theyre were quite a few i9000's still in the fleet. There are a bunch of old AirRoad freighliners sitting in there, there are even some Warrior Trucks still in their fleet, and everybody knows that thiose were all junk. Celadon was buying new Internationals through Brickyard International here in Indy, and there was a bunch over there, back in May Celadon canceled their order and Brickyard removed all their labels and all their trucks are currently for sale. I re-iterate the fact that Celadon has a hodgepodge bunch of junk for equipment and always has. In fact they even still have a bunch of Jolliff trailers still around. When was the last time you heard that name?? Everytime that they buy a company, they just fold their trucks into the fleet, slap a Celadon sticker on the door and then hope that truck doesnt fall apart before they get rid of it. Celadon tells the drivers that they trade out at 380,000 miles, but according to one of their chief mechanics up there, there are a whole ton of their trucks that have in excess of 650,000 miles on them. By the way, the International ProStars are something that they are only trying out and there are not that many in the fleet, according to the mechanics, Celadon is probally gonna go back to the frightliners because they are cheaper and the maintenance is not as high is it is on the Interanationals,

This thread is about Celadon,I am on topic.
If you don't like it,then maybe YOU should go somewhere else.Or,howbout this?Start a CELADON LOVEFEST thread, and advise everyone that the theme of it will be ''ain't Celadon grand''.
You can let everyone know that no ill sentiment of your beloved Celdon will be tolerated, and that anybody who doesn't blush whenever they hear the word CELADON should please go somewhere else.
I promise you,I'll stay out of your thread.Till then I'll post my ON TOPIC thoughts about them or any other outfit that scams their drivers.melanie, scarecrow56 and leannamarie Thank this. -
They are only giving their opinion. That is what this forum is designed for. Unfortunately, they are probably right.
I too am curious why the driver gets charged for using Idleaire. We all know with the high cost of fuel, anything a driver can do to save money only benefits the company in the long run.
I don't understand why the driver has to pay out of their pocket for comfort. Is it just a way for the company to keep the driver down just a little while lining their pockets with the drivers money?
I don't expect my company to write a check to the electric/gas company and pay for my heat and A/C at my house. I own my home and can do it myself. They own the truck. Why would they expect a driver to pay out of their pocket to try to be comfortable? Using Idleaire saves them money. Just sounds like another company that doesn't give a #### about their employees. I guess I just don't get it.
