All about safety ?I call Bulls-

I have to drive as fast as I can against a artificial arbitrary timer

I think warrantless surveillance when I think of this horses-

I had to crap in a bag Thursday morning because there was no parking in WV and the truck couldn't move

I have to sit for long hours so I'm worried I'm going to get a deep vein thrombosis or embolism. I drink a lot of water to prevent this so anyone who's been around a truck knows what that means

My attention tends to wane after several hours behind the wheel. I tend to get a bit sloppy perhaps wane is the wrong word

When I hear words like monitor, Electronic and compliance it pisses me off to no end because these are words associated with sex offenders

I'm an adult I've been driving local and road for 30 years I don't need this utter garbage.

Well you a lucky one. Or I must just hold it until I'm sure I not take forever in toilet. Going through Kansas I could not hold it. Had like 60 miles until next truck stop. It was a us route going west from Emporia, i believe. Not much on that route.

Can you tell the outlaws seem to hate it the most?

I'll be leaving for CT shortly for my first run with this new ELD, and I do hope it works properly but it will just be another legal day running for some of us. On the other had, I wonder how many outlaws will be on their first day of retirement?

First where do you get outlaws? I was taught by an older driver in 1979. Ran grain local, first O.T.R. run in March 1980. Never been involved in an accident, no moving violations in more tgan 20 yrs. This has to do with being close to loading or delivering and run out of time and being short a load forr the week. Obviously you dont have truck insurance, maintenence, etc. This law was lobbied in Congress in 2011 by the trucking alliance. The alliance is, Swift, Knight, Maverick, J.B. Hunt, K.L.L.M. Dupre, Cargo Transporters. Collectively 71,000 trucks, 220,000 trailers. Their driver runs out of time they send another truck. Soon shippers, recievers use them to insure on time delivery. Let me quote from their website. "The Trucking Alliancee was created in 2011 for the pourpose of lobbying Congress to mandate E.L.D." Soon we'll all be out here at 65 mph, thats next. Get it now ?
