No number was provided, plus when a broker I work with pretty often tells me FCFS, I trust him. First time this has happened, but he showed me his screen. Their OP's dept screwed it up.

 

It's usually not like this on the dry goods side. There's no reason I shouldn't have been able to get unloaded & make a 3.5 he dead head to pick up a load by 1530 work an 8 am appointment.

In the end I got detention & another load going home. I'll get home a day later but it is what it is.

 

Im glad i deal with flatbed...rarely do i have detention issues...

 

I'm glad I'm dry box......rarely do I have to tarp in the freezing rain and wind

 

I dont tarp in rain either...lol

 

I rarely do as well but I like that when I should get it, I do.

I'm with you for now at least. Rates are good enough that I'm fine in a van. Eventually van rates will settle & I'll switch to open deck

 

Got my $300 detention...for only 4hrs..lol...sure beats same amount for 24hrs..lol

I've gotten $300 in detention sitting at a truckstop until the next morning and $300 when my load wasn't ready at KC in McDonough and my girlfriend lived in Hampton (about 10 miles away)........so, $300 to go take a shower, drink some beer, have a nice supper, and kanoodle.
It's all good, but sometimes it's better.

 

I got $300 for being on a 10 hr break, twice before.

 

I had exactly 1 bad detention experience last year.......sat from about 7 am to about 2 or 3......no money, (or very little), just a bad day. I typically don't have detention issues......that said $300 for 4 hours is pretty swell.
