Yup. Reefer is certain an option but that would mean OTR which I'm trying as hard as I can to avoid. But the first year I understand you need to do what you have to do to set yourself up for better options down the road.

You can stay local if Comcar has something available.

According to their website, they do! I'll have to wait till my CDL is in hand but that's just 2 weeks away so I can wait. Looks like a great opportunity-I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for all you do China!

If the pay isn't satisfactory at Comcar, you can always change companies.
Put a list together for a backup plan, just in case you leave Comcar; if you go there.
Two more to look at in that situation:
    Southeastern Freight Lines
    Milan Express

If you have a dump trailer you can go in loaded and come out loaded.

Always liked Melton and the history. Used to listen to those all night trucker radio stations and they advertised "Melton Truck Lines, home of the 'running rabbit'."

No Florida does no better oy worse for CDL training. The problem is cost ratio to profit ratio.
Vans, reefers, boat haulers, car haulers can be profitable on cost vs miled. Flatbed do well going in to deliver, but freight coming out is scarce. Most flatbedders wind up having to deadhead back to Georgia or South Carolina to get a decent load.
So if you live in Florida and want to hire on with a mega or a reputable company, you might consider reefer or dry van, at least this way they'll be able to get you home.
