Yep, I've done trucking twice in my life. The first time with schneider(03 to 04).
I swore I would never drive a truck again. I was forced back in 27 months ago. I came back with a strategy. I knew I would not get a decent trucking job to start after 11 years away. I did 6 months with Swift. During that time I focused on safety and finding a good carrier to move up to. After 6 months with Swift, I moved up to a great carrier for dry van with a weekly minimum pay. It is like being salaried. Now I have found a certain contentment and a check I can depend on.

I get it, but evolutionary speaking - that's kind of a retarded analogy.

Humans attempt to pair-bond for life, culturally in the US - that's a legit thing. My notion is you've tried & failed. So have I - no harsh judgment.

Dogs also operate on pheromone, sexual readiness..... blah, blah, blah, Science, blah, blah....... Create your own reality within the world we live.....

Bottom line: You gotta know when to dip out. Not every situation is for everyone.

Guys thrive at Schneider & guys don't.

I think they just need to come to grips with the idea that ANY OTR company, ESPECIALLY a training company is a stepping stone. Cut your milk-teeth and grow up...... Move along. I'm not looking for a life-partner in the industry..... Guess I'm more like the dog: please me now & maybe I'll come around again tomorrow.

    I'd rather be a rhinoceros.
    I'm short-sighted and violent.

    What could go wrong?

Definitely plenty of satisfied drivers. I drove for a bottom feeder and for a good company and both have ups and down. A good attitude goes a long way in the trucking business

    Truth.

I worked with Werner for 14 months. Decent experience. Saw a bunch of the Country I might not have otherwise seen. Isn't much to complain about since I went in NOT expecting to make $265 billion in my first year. And NOT expecting it to be a cush stroll on the beach.

I refuse to sleep in a truck anymore. Isn't my bag. So now I'm a wanna-be trucker in a day cab. Paid hourly & OT after 40..... Pleases me even if it chaps a few ##### around here. *shrugs*

Unfortunately these 'Starter' companies are necessary. They weed out the weak...... The sooner you guys realize this, the sooner you'll see the difference between a Werner driver & an ex-Werner driver. One survived; the other is trying. Not everyday is easy out there, so let's not pretend it is.

    Dan.S, 4mer trucker, mjd4277 and 3 others Thank this.
