You're not doing it wrong, you're doing it your way.

Start listening to that clown and you'll be bankrupt in a few months.

Running your own truck under your own authority makes you a real o/o.

Speaking in terms of legal definitions of course.

See legaly you as the actual owner of your truck, running under SNI's authority which makes SNI the operator, are an owner/lessor.

Whereas an SFI client would be a lessee/lessor, because they have no ownership and no authority to operate.

But common language now everyone calls themselves owner operators even if they are neither.

That lawsuit had no grounds. Not even the shadiest of lawyers would take it cause they aren't breaking the contract. This had been stated many many times just in this thread. You got two legally separate companies, Schneider national(the trucking side) and Schneider logistics (the company that national gets the loads from). Legally they are covering their bases allowing them to screw their lease operators as hard as they want.

So does anyone here know the difference between contract freight and spot freight?

Contract Freight would be you agree to move multiple loads over a time period for a set price........

Spot would be one at a time ...no set price.

    That’s a guess.....

Oh I don't know ... maybe I'm thinking that SNI is putting thier contract freight on the choice board and overflowing thier excess to the spot market, having to pay spot prices to move it.

But then grand conspiracy theories are so much simpler.

Or the grabbed everything from said shipper and start at the top and work their way down.

    Lease 2nd
    Spot last resort
