New driver @ DOT right out of Cdl school, 8 months of DOT experience now. It was a good decision to go with DOT, plenty of work, miles, pay, & home every weekend. On track to make 70-80K first year. Great people to work for and with so far. Safe miles to all!

First driving job and could be the only one. Dot doesn't hire anyone they only hire the top 15% of applicants. When you apply you have an option to be a drop and hook driver, or a driver that throws freight. Multiple driving schedules to choose from in the Mt. Sterling DC. 6 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off. And full time which usually means 6 days with a 34 hour restart. Great home time, and for the most part easy staff to work with. My dispatcher knows you by name your not just a number to DOT. They have a lot of respect for their drivers. I'm running 6 days on and 3 days off a d about 50k my first year. As far as pay goes it gets better and better. I know some guys that are pulling in 80 to 90k a year. #### good money for being a driver!

My one year review of DOT. I ended a 20+ year career in a steel mill near St. Louis, MO. due to a plant idling. I chose to take a severance buyout and obtained my Cdl. DOT was recommended to me by a retired driver with 3 million + miles who is an instructor at a local college driving school. DOT was among 4 possible companies on my short list. I applied to many companies and was offered many jobs including flat bed. I chose DOT and pursued the hiring and training process. I was hired for a customer delivery specialist who throws freight. They also have " no touch" transfer drivers. DOT offers a 5/2 schedule which is full time, home every weekend. They offer a 4off/ 4on, a 6on/ 3off schedule also. They stated 1st yr pay to be 55-65K/YR. They start new drivers with no experience @ .36/mile. A .02/m raise every 6 months for 2 years which gives you .44/m at two years. There is also a fuel/idling bonus you can qualify for of .02-.04/m. Average miles per week for delivery drivers is 1800-2500. You're paid mileage pay and grocery breakdown pay based on miles, # of cases, # of line items. I generally leave out on Sunday and return to terminal on Friday. On rare occcasion I get in on Thursday or Saturday. I get at least a reset on the weekend but generally average 40-50 hrs off duty. My dispatchers are awesome and don't micromanage you to extremes. Contact is through peoplenet message, call, or email. My manager is top shelf, an honest straight shooter I have utmost respect for. I'm on track to make 75-80K my first year. I am satisfied that I chose DOT above my 3 other choices on my short list, no regrets here. Wish anyone the best who applies with DOT, they hire 3% of applicants. They are very selective in the hiring process and rightly so. The physical is very thorough and was way more thorough than my steel mill physical. You can work for a family owned company who values their employees and shows their appreciation for their labor. You will earn your living but you'll make a good wage for your labor. Best luck to anyone looking at DOT, safe miles to all!

Full calendar year results. Started as a new driver @.36/mile, @6mo-.38/mile, @1yr-.40/mile This year end stub is working 3mo.@.36/mi, 6mo.@.38/mi, & 3mo.@.40/mi. There are profit sharing, holiday pay, safety bonuses, fuel bonus in my yearly gross. I’m pretty satisfied with my year end numbers for my first full calendar year driving after getting my Cdl. Worked in an integrated steel mill for 20+ years and mill was Idled. I took a company offered severance package and ended that chapter of my life. I enrolled in a retraining program and received my Cdl. I chose DOT from my short list of 4 companies. Pay was stated @ 55-65K per year for new employees, my year end results have exceeded that. I work as a DELIVERY driver which means I throw some freight. There are transfer NO TOUCH positions that pay less, strictly deliver STC loads and drop & hooks. Delivery drivers average 1800-2300 miles/wk. Transfer drivers average 3000-3600 miles/wk, more miles for transfer to make up for loss of DELIVERY PAY. I’m not a recruiter, just a driver new to this line of work offering up my results in hopes of helping another driver. Safe travels to all, have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
