"F you, I'm off duty."
I'd give the same response if I were walking back to my truck at a rest area and approached by a cop, or doing any other non-work-related task. Hell, I had a local off duty cop ask me for my license, registration, and insurance after he flashed his badge to pull me over in my pickup and I told him "I ain't showing you $#!+" before cussing him out for his own poor driving...WITH KIDS IN THE CAR (which was the ONLY reason I stopped for him). He had made a left out of a McD's right in front of me, dern near getting T-boned, before fishtailing all over the road across 2 lanes trying to get up to speed. Sorry, bud, pull a stunt like that and you lose the right to criticize the driving of those who were skilled enough to avoid your dumb ###.

But there's a big difference between a pre-emissions truck and a pre-1999 truck.
I don't care how old your truck is as long as it has sufficient compression and power to not cause backups as you struggle to get your 70k over the hill, holding up those much heavier.
It amazes me how one can take on much higher fuel and upkeep costs just to illegally run a few extra miles each week and the avoid the one time equivalent cost of 1/3 of 1 fill up [for an ELD device]
But I guess they're "sticking it to the man"ZVar Thanks this. -

OH, MI, and IN can be different, and parking at any will most likely generate a photo or maybe several. -

Some weigh stations are more conducive to overnight parking than others, regardless of any statewide policies that might exist. But I agree, if they have ample parking that will not interfere with early morning business, then they should allow overnight parking. But you know what will happen if they do? .... every morning they will arrive with some idiot parked all stupid in front of or on the scale or otherwise in a spot that makes them have to be "the bad, evil scale guy just hassling drivers for no reason" to get them moved. I see it all the time at places that are kind of borderline acceptable overnight parking.

Second a new engine can still run until it blows parts or piston without any signs. So tell me how all this new technology is so great.Joetro Thanks this.
