Well, there are a lot of people bashing a company they don't work for. So what's the difference?

    Speaking of Swift drivers.

Earlier this week I'm at the Limon CO TA and while I was at the counter returning some books on CD there was a woman talking to the next cashier over.
The dude helping me does not look like he is smart enough to be a cashier, but in his case looks are deceiving.
The other female patron is asking the other cashier if she has a number for a taxi service. Cashier informs her that Limon does not have taxi service, too small. And asks where the woman wanted to go. She says well let me look on my paper.
The other cashier tells her that is where she is. Woman says "oh cool, I'm here, right where I need to be and I didn't even know it"
Cashier gives directions to the service desk.

Soon as the woman walks around the corner and I bust out laughin. I say to the dude helping me "WTF? how can you not know where you are, and where you are going?"

He says to me "I've got one word for you driver. SWIFT"

I keep laughing and say "yeah I was gonna say that. Apparently when you drive for Swift knowing what you are doing, where you are going, and what you are supposed to do isn't a requirement"

GOOD LORD, IS IT ANY WONDER SWIFT HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS AND SO MANY BAD MARKS ON THEM?

IT CERTAINLY IS NO WONDER THEY TAKE OUT THE NUMBER OF LOW CLEARANCE BRIDGES THAT THEY DO. :biggrin_25512: KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR SWIFT AND CO. :biggrin_25512:

Paw paw is right in that Swift obviously is not the only company to have had high profile accidents and some of their reputation is undeserved, but still, incidents such as the following still leave one wondering.........
Recently, a member of the sales staff at the carrier I work for was traveling down a city street here in a company car. A Swift truck traveled past her in the left lane and then proceeded to make a sudden right turn into a service station both vehicles were passing. The ensuing accident crushed the company car thankfully resulting in no injuries to either person involved. During the investigation our terminal mgr. arrived and was getting info from police and the people involved. The driver of the Swift truck upon learning who he was, pulled him aside and asked him if our company was hiring! How's that for chutzpah folks? Gotta admire his pluck!! lol.

Did you stop to think that she was in an unfamiliar area and could have just finished a stressful day or two traveling Greyhound to get to Limon, CO? In situations like that it is very easy to be confused or to not notice certain things. I am sure you have never been looking for something you "lost" only to find it was right under your nose. It is so easy to pick on others but again, people that do that do so to make themselves look better.

I am not speaking to him directly. I am quoting his post to address a general attitude people have anymore to put other people down all the time. It is easy to be judgmental and not think of the circumstances that a person might have been in when the occurence happened.

Swift has earned their reputation as the worst or the next to the worst. When THEY clean it up THEY will be the brunt of far fewer jokes.

Until till then, I will continue to laugh.

I have not worked for swift but i sure do have alot more Swift screwup videos on my camera then I do any other... well except Fed ex...

Im inclined to give them a wide berth and sit up and watch when they back up near me. I've been hit by them more the once. Mostly minor but still.

I dunno, I hear alot of We Employ ####### No Experience Required but it doesn't personally annoy me. I see swift and I get a little more nervous then if I see Schneider.

    Brickman Thanks this.
