I have not had a problem with West Side Transport. However, I manage my time well and run. Out of about 550 trucks, I was 14 from the top in monthly miles the last time I checked.

I get $1,000 minimum guaranteed pay. If I drive more then 2,500 miles then I get paid for all the miles I drive. If they don't get me home for my 34 reset I get $100 extra. If they don't get me home for second weekend 34 restart I get $200 extra plus 48 hours off the next weekend.
I get paid $20 per hour detention pay after 2 hours. The company pays detention even if customer does not. So don't have worry about them saying the customer won't pay detention.
It nice not having to worry about not having work. It puts the pressure on dispatch to get the miles. I will say I think it also limits the home time because they are now paying $1,000 no matter what. So basically they going to get miles. We do lots of drop and hook loads.
I have noticed if the miles are low for the week say 1,800 by Friday morning. They won't send us home. They will just pay the $100 extra or $200 and run us all day, plus Saturday to get the miles up to 2,500+. They basically run the full hour they can get every week and always do 34 reset starting Saturday night.Last edited: Dec 26, 2017

One more time I climb on my high horse.
The Driver brings in 100% of the money to the company. Your pay is a small portion of that money. How they figure you pay is simply a sales job. K and B has a "guarantee". If you take a day of home time then you don't get the guarantee. So they are saying they have enough business to let you drive 2500 miles in a 7 day period. That is 358 miles a day.
At K and B when a driver approaches 2500 miles and is on a good run, they have a habit of calling that driver and having him relay the load off to another driver. Then you end up sitting in Wisconsin at a mom and pop truck stop for two days.
I put what my drivers make and then had to delete it. I don't want to make you all cry.Toomanybikes and tman78 Thank this. -
My company offers a salary of $1000 a week or percentage of the load. On salary, you still get the percentage, but at the end of the month, anything that you made over the $1000 is paid out as an extra pay check. We also get quarterly bonuses and a yearly safety bonus.

Nice post. I was not aware a guarantee was a thing at so many companies. Thanks.
