That isn't an Arkansas thing. Its pretty much the entire southeast also. In fact i can't think of a place east of Texas and south of ky that doesn't serve a pulled pork sandwich with the slaw on it.

 

Franks is still there. But not nearly as good as it used to be.

 

Yep, the cole slaw on the bbq is definitely Memphis Style. I'll have my cole slaw on a pulled pork bbq sandwich, while you're at it. Texas is big on bbq, but don't know if I have ever seen it served with slaw. There is a bbq franchise down here that's called Red, Hot, and Blue. Now they will serve it to you Memphis Style anytime.

 

First week of August I'll be there, helping to clog 158, doing all the things out of town tourists do. Maybe someday I won't be a tourist, just be a migrant

 

Ever had a turkey "reuben"? Turkey instead of beef and coleslaw instead of sauerkraut.... Tasty.

Another place here on the sandbar is a shop called the Stop N Shop. Great subs. Anyhow, they got a reuben with slaw also. Normal reuben tho, no change of the meat. Just a swap between coleslaw and sauerkraut. Good stuff.

Pretty sure I'm gaining weight just reading this thread. lol.

Put some sweet cole slaw on a hot dog with a bun! Now you have a slaw dog. It's great with a beer.
