Ya, I talked to the guy at St. Louis. I guess he liked my attitude, he O.K.d me for hire.
Just waiting on stupid FBI to background check me.
Looked at a truck today. It was almost what I wanted, not quit though.

I am still here too, this post does go quiet from time to time. I have been extremely busy, so I’m happy. I’m out of Joliet which is affiliate owned.
St Louis is corporate owned. They have a lot of work, but the communication their is very little to terrible. And not just between you and dispatch, but between them and the customer too. If you can tolerate a little chaos, you will make money in St Louis.
In Joliet (750) we are spoiled by good dispatchers, terminal manager, biller, and owner. The down side is we have slow periods. But in those slow periods you’re free to go work for another terminal.
I have a DB Truck and if it wouldn’t report to my credit as a “repo” I would of let those con artist in Antioch Illinois have it back a long time ago. They paint turds - that is all they do. And they farm the painting out; ctually the only thing DB physically does is installs chrome to the painted turd. Everything else they farm out to the cheapest bidder. The Keys to Quality program is, by far, the better way to go - If you want to lease purchase with QC.

The best way is to finance on your own.

Call me crazy, but I do really like it at QC.

I drove a company glider for 3 years. I sure as he'll wouldn't buy one of them. You will go broke buying oil.

I was ready to buy a DB but really your posts are what made me step back and think. I would love if I could buy one from Fitzgerald, and Im going to ask about it when they get back after new years, but I think its the finance company that isn't letting that fly. I have my eye on 2 trucks right now. One is a double bunk, one is a single bunk. It depends on what they tell me about a rider program that will decide which truck, because my wife would like to go now and then. Ive got a sneaking suspicion that they don't allow riders due to the nature of some of the places they go though. Thats fine by me anyway. The single bunk is a prettier truck.;)
Glad to hear you still like them and are still making money. Ill probably see you out there in a couple months.

I don't know 100%, but I'm 99.9999999999% there are no riders allowed. Unless the rider is licensed and approved by the company.

Ya, when I started thinking about it I was thinking they probably don't due to the location of the places I will probably be going. Places a twic card is needed and chemical plants and what not.

Just the nature of hauling hazmat and going to chemical plants excludes riders.

Yep. Well, hey. I didn't want to deal with the magnificent human specimens associated with grocery warehouses and big box warehouses, so.............................
Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

I have been told after a year you can get a rider pass. But sometimes when people don’t know you have a rider, they just don’t know you have a rider. The other option is to ask about her going to the week long class and becoming QC certified. Or get her CDL and you drive team.
Depending on who QC is using for finance, they will not finance a glider. I am very happy the Keys to Quality program is open again; if you stick it out you will own the truck.
And all you have to do to make your brand new truck look like a DB Truck is add some chrome to it, but you will be without all the repair bills.

    AZ Pete Thanks this.
