I am currently a driver in the private fleet I heard they're trying to cut a hundred and forty million dollar annual off the budget for the fleet that amounts to about $20,000 less per driver if you figure their 7200 drivers if this occurs I predict a mass Exodus of some really great drivers you will have a bunch of bitter men instead of Better Man

Its kind of a Bummer what has happened to Wally World. Used to be their drivers were top hands and the trucking industry respected them. Now it seams like they mine SWIFT for drivers.
    Fedex too.

Yep..the writing has been in the wall for a while...executive management could care less about any worker at walmart...how anyone can just sit there and take it as "you have adjust to changes" as the changes are against you the employee and taking money out of your and your families pockets...walmart allegedly telling folks they need to cut cost while at the same time giving ceo huge pay increase and bragging about record numbers...

Walmart is nothing short of a corporate bully who thinks the world must adhere to them or else...like with the threats to carriers and o/o that "if you do busienss with Amazon, you won't be doing business with us"...this is their mindest...sam would be rolling over in his grave to see what happened to this co..

You said it all. The private fleet has changed so much in the last 8 years. I have been driving a truck since 1979 and been with Walmart since 2003. I have totally had it. Greed and management bonuses is ALL that matters anymore. More rules from the government and Walmart constantly. More responsibility on drivers. I'm still over a year and a half from drawing my social security at age 62 but the end of January that's all she wrote for me at Walmart. I won't be making $400 a day anymore but I never lived beyond my means either. There is more to life than holding a steering wheel. Can't say that I was ever mistreated or not treated with respect until about the last 8-9 months. I was always one who kept to myself and kept my mouth shut to management. I found out that if you speak your mind and they know you don't drink the blue Koolaid you will get the cold shoulder from managers (including safety) pretty fast. Walmart can bully the vendors and the 38 specials all they want but it's over for me. Good luck to all!

I dont often shop at Walmart, due to their long history of treating store employees poorly; making them watch anti-union video's, ect. Many of their store employees are taught how to work the system for "free" healthcare and other things that the public ends up paying for. As a former
Tanker, you get what you pay for. Lots of folks are convinced that ARCO gasoline is "top-tier" fuel.

Simply put, it is not "top tier" gasoline. Sure they save some $$$ by not allowing credit cards
to be used, but its the entire makeup of the gasoline itself that makes it cheaper to refine and
sell it at 20 or 30 cents per gallon cheaper then quality gasoline's, which keep the fuel system
    and intake valves much cleaner.

It doesn't work like that. ARCO and other cheap brands of gasoline will not clean up deposits
very well, so you end up paying a mechanic for repairs. The same thing applies to "Always Low Prices" with Walmart. Or as their new motto goes: “Save Money. Live Better.”. Same thing,
repackaged. How, exactly does a Walmart employee "Live Better", on such low wages, I ask?

Sure, its hard to beat WM prices, but it costs their employees real lost money in return, and a high employee turnover rate to boot. I am not trying to bash on Walmart Drivers at all, just saying that I could see this coming for quite some time. I hope that 2018 will be a better year, no matter what you Walmart drivers decide to do.

Sure hope they do. Give these rotten cowards in Arkansas something to really worry about and maybe get off their butts to get this company back in shape instead of becoming known as the trashy supermarket truckstop and RV park of America.
