It's a great company to start driving for... provided you don't have a family to support and that you are able to survive on consistant, weekly pay of $350.00-$750.00... before taxes.. for an entire year.
Yes, it really is that bad.
Why else do you think that they are always, always, always, hiring?

    You are not paranoid.

A lot of drivers work themselves into bad enough MVR records that the best job they ever have is at the mega that gave them the bad record.

Some of those guys end up making a career of mega crap trucking companies. Others move on to small companies that are far worse then the mega and offer less in the way of pay or benefits they got at the mega.

While working at a mega watch yourself. Do not only learn the skills needed to keep you MVR clean, but learn to prioritize the demands.

Everyone has mishaps, and accidents. Just don't make a habit of it.

Oh good Lord someone else bashing the big boy on the block... yes SNI has a few problems, but shorting your pay is not one of them, I promise you, it never happened to me in over 9 total years of working for them! Wells Fargo may have their own problems, but your money (don’t sound like you was there long enough to put any in anyway) is safe and sound, here again mine was just fine and got every penny when I clocked out from there... Good company, maybe not for everyone, but they do what they say, they expect you to be the professsional and will take no less! Give us some detail of your real problem, you started out strong with the numbers, but then it quickly went to nothing but fussing....

[Mainly aimed at this question, I know there's "exceptions")
Can't make the load unless you drive illegal? Don't do it. Reschedule. Load overweight? Don't haul it. Told to do (insert any DOT Regs violation) or else your fired? Move on, you don't need to work for them anyway.

$350 a week? Come on now. All you've ever done on here is trash companies (conway, Schneider, etc etc). It is a good starter company and nothing more but to claim people are only making $350/week is absurd. $100-$150/day bare minimum unless they're on training salary. Training salary 7 years ago was $350/week. No one is paying that little nowadays unless you go to some crap company like Carolina Cargo or Western express.

    Wrong, Steve.

The real trashing here is coming from the companies to the drivers... one payday after another.

There are plenty of weeks when a Schneider (or Conway, or whatever mega) driver will receive a weekly paycheck for $350.00... and you know it.

And the above applies to both newbies and experienced drivers.

Training salaries of past years gone by have nothing to do with this; today's salaries are the issue here and I'm calling them for what they truly are...consistant, low, low pay. And the figures that I provide are dead on. To claim that people are making anything different is absurd and not entirely true.

I would urge any potential new driver to physically go to any truck stop and personally speak with a current Schneider (or any other company) driver about real pay as well as conditions. Guess what they will hear?
    Yep... $350.00- $750.00 a week.

And I still don't know what a good 'starter' company really is unless you mean that the company will simply hire anyone with a pulse, and then pay them next to nothing...
As in far less than minimum wage.

When I was there I made $1050-$1250/week every week I was out 7 days. It's an annoying company to work for with all of their little requirements but only a complete moron that doesn't have a clue would make $350 in a week.

When I drove Van my checks were typically 675-800, this was after insurance, etc, and I had a few great checks (ran out my 70, lots of miles, and had minimal wait on load/unload) and pushed 1100-1200 checks. Did I expect them? No. Was it nice? Heck yeah. It is what you make of it.

Yeah my numbers were gross earnings before all deductions. 700-800 net approximately. Pay is not an issue there like some make it out to be. The problem with Schneider is all of the micromanagement. Even their IC's have to put up with stupid red tape.
