I don't pay for any of Celadons' operating costs..

Personal comfort items, like blankets,pillows and shower shoes should naturally be picked up by the driver.Call me old fashioned, but I think heat and air conditioning shouldn't be on a company drivers dime.

Also I have already stated my views on idleaire..Celadon pays for their share of it and I pay for mine..I don't expect them to pay for my Internet or my tv viewing while hooked up to it. It's only fair.

Good luck there Bunny.It sounds like CELADON is a great fit for you and their shareholders.Unfortunately,I don't think that arrangement would work well for most people out here interested in paying their own bills, not CELADONS..

It's obvious you will fight to the death for your right to pay CELADONS bills.Maybe they'll look out for you the same way one day.I wouldn't hold my breath though.I been out here a bit longer than you,and I can promise you they wont.

As far as fighting to death, NO I don't think so..I am just putting my point of view out there as well.And as far as how long you have been out here or I have been out here is not the issue.Celadon has treated me good since day 1 and I am not saying that I haven't had some problems but they have not been serious enough for me to quit or start bashing them.

What's next? Are company drivers going to be expected to ''pitch in'' for reefer fuel and tires next?

Considering we don't run reefer units...Well, that's that on this one...LOL

I am the face of my company as well.I operate the equipment safely,deliver my freight on time.I maintain a clean,presentable appearence,and conduct business with customers in a courteous manner.I just don't pay their operating expenses.If that's not enough to keep their head above water,I have no reservations about quitting them.

I as well am the face of my company...I also operate the equipment safely,deliver my freight ontime and pick up ontime. My truck has been and will always be clean, presentable and up to par mechanically..I also conduct business with customers in an upmost respectful and courteous manner...This is a given job when your in any type of industry..It has nothing to do with paying operating expenses...

But hey,if it works for you, go for it.I wouldn't tolerate it myself.

Everything works if you can find a common ground to work on..

A lot of the companies only pay half for idle air or make the drivers pay. Seeing they are picking up a portion makes me believe they care for its drivers. Hey its better than not having a/c or heat. Heck my friend who is an o/o pays for it all.

If you figure $7-$8 per time to hook up to Idle-air, think of it this way at $.36 a mile, you have to drive almost 21 miles just to pay your idle-aire at a figure of $7.50. 21 miles too many! Like I say if the company does not want you to idle, and use idle-aire(which idle-aire is operating currently under bankruptcy anyhow and is not expected to install anymore facilities than they already have, which really isnt that many in places where you would actually need the service)then they should pay for all of it, or not have a problem with the idle issue. BTW, when I was at Celadon they paid all of the idle-aire cost, that was when they agreed with using it-obviously they dont now.

One more reason why Celadon is not THE company you think it is.

Agreed and I have found no reason to jump ship yet. I just got into my new Cascadia much more smoother than the older one. I wanted a pro star but oh well im just happy to have a new truck. I have gotten my 30tho bonus and my 1week vac bonus was aimin 4 another b4 the new year but the slowdown might hinder that.

The slow down is hurting many of us..But I have faith that it'll pick up soon...Hopefully after the holiday season is up, we will all get the miles we are use to...I am HAPPY to hear that you haven't given up and left us..It takes alot of guts to stick it out with a company through the hard times just as well as through the good times!!!!

IrunU I couldn't agree more. I am a fan of Bunnies posting and get very upset when immature members try to hog the thread. Very unfriendly and irritating when you're having to read the nonsense.

Who cares about which trucks are being used for what. What I care is Bunnies postings. Remember she doesn't have to post on her life but she chooses too like the rest of us who post here. Give her a break and take your BS somewhere else. Im sick and tired of reading it and will not hesitate to contact the mods.
