I'm thinking about hitting the road but realize I know nothing. I've been looking at Prime. I do have few questions though.
How is the fuel for the truck paid for? Does it come out of my check?
If I train at Springfield will I be based out of there?
How does the taxes deducted work if I'm not from Missouri?
Are there any other questions I should ask about?
Any constructive Impit would be appreciated.

Fuel is paid for via a company fuel card.
If you train out of Springfield, you will...train out of Springfield. It has no bearing whatsoever upon where you are ‘based’ out of after completion of training.
Taxes...taxes are deducted from your pay, as they would be anywhere else. It makes no difference that you are not living in the state that the corporate headquarters is located in.
I would strongly suggest that you call a Prime recruiter - they could answer questions directly, and would likely clear up any concerns you have, especially at this basic a level.Last edited: Jan 13, 2018

Thank you, you're the first person to say that flat out.

Do you happen to work for them?

If you can pay for a cheap cdl school I would give Tyson foods a call before going to prime. Tyson will reimburse some for school. 8 weeks with a trainer last I checked that time was paid 400/week but couldve gone up. I belive solo start after training is .38 per mile.gizmo85 Thanks this.

Thank you I had forgot all about Tyson.
