"if $300 is going to kill anything, you shouldn't own the truck."

Sorry to hear youve enjoyed a career of pissing away your money. This is my first mistake after 5 years of trucking, unlike you i do not believe in charitable donations to the dmv or dot in ANY AMOUNT. although i asked for advice and not opinions thank you for sharing your experience of a lifetime of mistakes and acceptance of wasted money.

To the immediate previous poster yes "stupid tax" is a more accurate way to look at it :)

First mistake? Not sure if you're trying to fool us or yourself. You just pissed away $300. The first rule of charitable donations of any kind....know what you're getting for your money.

I made 1 mistake not a career of it like you imply regarding your own career. Perhaps you should sell your truck or most likely get out of your company owned tractor

Well you don't seem to get this, this place offers both advice and opinions.

My advice is eat the cost.

Learn how to ask questions before you put the money down.

My other advice is not to get into owning a truck if $300 is going to cause lost sleep.

You made a mistake, big deal.

    We all have.

I've got a $61,000 mistake sitting in my storage yard, want to trade?

Get it fixed, move on and make some money.

Thats a fair and logical reply. I agree, i just hate losing even a dollar, its why i beatmyself up all winter doing repairs myself in negative degree weather ...everyday now for months. Yes i have the money, im just wired to be cheap, hardworking and proactive. Yesterday knocked down alot my hard work by basically giving money away for my own stupidity.

I drove 2 hours back to the driver motor vehicles today, returned the plates, spoke to supervisor, wrote up a refund request form, and submitted it. Who knows outcome but alot better than just giving up and accepting the loss as advised...

I get it, watch every dollar carefully because I am a very cheap *******.

That said, sometimes you can't help but lose some money. I lost it many times and learned.

I hope you get your refund.

Mind sending me $300 then? Fools and poor people typically piss away money without "whining".

Hahaha. $300 cant even fill up my tiny tanks...

Look in the mirror before throwing the term "fool" around recklessly.

Maybe next time you will ACTUALLY pay attention to what you are doing. Good luck! (I have a sneaking suspicion you will need it more than you think)
