    @Bob Dobalina

    My post about zero courtesy and unprofessionalism can apply to both Ground and Freight down here. Freight acts like no one else exists on the road, Ground drives like maniacs. I worked for FedEx in the hub in Memphis, but I wouldn’t be associated with their trucking company down here for any amount of money.

    I honestly don't get their drivers. It's like I am seeing the same driver making the same dangerous maneuvers. For that kind of money, I'd assume they'll drive a little better.

    I wanted to address this because I think you need to know that that's a fairy tale. There is either some missing information from your source or maybe a misunderstanding on your part. $5,000 net per week might be possible for both drivers combined, but not for each one.

    I know people who work at UPS. Tons of their drivers are grossing over $2,000 per week. Plenty of them gross over $2,500. But zero individual company drivers working for any company (including team drivers) "take home" $5,000 per week. To do so would require that they gross over $6,000 per week. That's over $300k per year. That's executive-level compensation, not truck driver pay.

    I heard some of our dockworkers talking similar numbers about another trucking job the other night and I kept my mouth shut because they were new guys and I don't know them yet. There are some good, very high-paying jobs out there, but those kind of numbers? No.

    Get some experience and set your sights high. Go ahead and make it six figures. But make the sure the first number of those six figures is a "1."
