I took a 4 day home time. Knew it would cost me but was braced for it. But then the Coming Out of the House Gremlins took over. My regular, much loved, fleet manager is out sick. Stupid short load relay to get empty trailer got put back 24hrs and they wouldnt let me out of it. Followed by another measly load followed by a long one that didn't deliver til after pay cutoff for week. Great. After fuel and everything came out Truck payment short. Oh well. It will come out of next settlement.
But then I got a call from leasing company guy, "What happened?? OMG Did you take the week offfff???? Do you need to make payment arrangements?"
"Wow (Buddy), for $350? Really?" I Would have been annoyed except he's offering to help he thinks. I'm wondering...has this leasing company never leased to anybody before?
Anyway it will all work out.
My fleet guy's back and I'm gonna make some money. Hey la-Hey la my fleet guy's back.

    driverdriver and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Id say that call from the leasing guy was comical at best. What nobody over there ever takes time off?

I thought you had leased from a company affiliated with or owned by jb?
Its gonna be a loooooooooooong lease, if they call you every time you dont make a weekly payment.

Doesnt jb make payment for you? I know at my company. When the guys on lease purchase. Take time off. Or for whatever reason dont generate enough to make their payment.
The company makes it anyway. That just puts then in a negative status. Then it comes out of their next settlement.
Sometimes guys have a big repair bill that thier maint escrow doesnt have enough to cover. Or they take extended time off.

No big deal when they get back to work. They dont have a check for a week or two or (however long it takes)to come out the whole.

Go the other way with the guy. Ask him where you want him to leave the truck.
He will back pedal quickly. They certainly don't want the truck back.

I'm a guy and I get called honey, sweetie all the time by cashiers, waitresses, nurses, etc. Doesn't bother me. I'm thinking, sometimes I'm all of those things, other times I'm a cantankerous grouch, but most of the time I'm somewhere in between. I'm only wondering how they know what mood I'm in when they address me as sweetie? :)

This is kind of a different lease. JB does send payment but they don' advance diddly. Now that isn' true if you're doing a pure JB lease but I'm actually lease purchasing thru an independent company that partnered with JB. In theory i could leave JB and carry this lease to another company.

Why is my spell helpful dropping all the last letters in my contractions? Did I spend too much time in Mississippi?

Sweetie and honey have a different connotation in that situation. When I get it from a mechanic it translates "Silly airhead female" trust me.

I don't know, you may be reading into it a bit. Some people think those words are respectful and terms of endearment. I don't know your age, but sometimes people do tend to sweeten up their speech when talking to older folks. Just go to an old folks home to see that in action. I think the song "We'll Make Great Pets" sum up how some people see the elderly. But I'm of the opinion that if words offend you, make it known respectfully, and end it right then and there, if possible.

I remember being called white 'boy' and I often wondered what they meant by that? Now we're talking some serious WTF?

When I'm spending hard earned money in a shop yes ma'am will do nicely. However if you've ever been on the receiving end of the disdainful condescending Honey, lucky you, Honey.
