Last week loads from toledo going to philly:
    Accelerated, $271.00 per unit
    Supreme, $269.00 per unit

So who's winning award of ####hole carrier or perhaps there is no winner

Those are big units and an expensive, hilly route. If that was a full load of smaller units on a non toll route it would be acceptable

$1900 for 7 units from Accelerated , $200 tolls. They want $500,000 cargo and diminished value policy. How about they will ask for my house and 2 cars just in case to cover their greatness. What a piece of 's h it place.
I would do it but only with $100,000 cargo and nothing else

Why would you want only $100,000 in cargo and no diminished value policy? That is way under insured for a 7 unit load, leaving you on the hook personally for any damages over the cargo limit when a loss occurs.

$4 a mile is a bit light, especially with PA Turnpike tolls, but for some it is perfect to get the positioned to grab a load out of NJ or MD heading out with good rates.

I have never understood having barely enough insurance to cover a load, unless you have thousands of dollars put away to cover your losses, one good mistake can bankrupt you. Just before we made the decision this year to park our trucks and sell them we were shopping insurance, our best quote appeared good on the surface until you compared actual coverages against our previous policy, no way. We would have been on the hook for the first $10k instead of $2k, no stacked limits in case we exceeded our limit with any one type of loss, no specified environmental liability and a few other minor differences. For the last several years we have only done wholesale auction work and still maintained half a million in cargo, just in case something big happened or more than one of our trucks was involved in a wreck at the same time.

It wasn't best example but just to express what the load is worth to me, Accelerated to little above $3 a mile after tolls which is plain stupid. If my cargo was at $100k and diesel was at $1.5 maybe I would grab a load once a year.
My post is directed more at Accelerated which is requiring $500,000 and diminished value from only some A rated inurance providers. My message to them is:
EAT YOUR OWN 'S. HIT , CENTRAL IS FULL OF CHEAP LOADS, WE DON'T NEED MORE.

so this is right order for the worst companies on central:
    #1 metrogistics
    #2 wholesale
    #3 accelerated
    #4 supreme

2014 JMN had lots of overflow loads going to Twin Oaks Pa. from Toledo and Romulus MI. One pick one drop paid $4500 just to add a bit of perspective. I don't know if Supreme and Accelerated are contract or overflow but #### that rate leaves a bit to be desired.

Got ya. Sadly there are many that will continue to participate in the race to the bottom, and as shippers relax their standards even more companies will join in the race. Hold your head, and standards, high and only take what makes sense to you. That is a big reason Victor and I decided 2017 was our last year after 14 years together and over 20 in the industry for me enough was enough.

I would have done same in 2017 but luckily I was able to find a customer that is paying me really good money. Last 10 months I didn't pick 1 full load out of central.
What bothers me is that accelerated is advertising on Facebook with so many followers to praise them while the truth is they are just another bs .
Wake up people, can't you see what is going on. They may have leased operators with some good paying loads but sh.i.t loads are putting you backward. So what is the point?
    Can someone educate me please

    Doealex Thanks this.
