Yeah Walmart can be like that. You should get detention for that though.

The Walmart dc in brooksville FL has never paid me detention, and they take their time unloading , some just won’t pay

    csmith1281 and RStewart Thank this.

That's why they like Independents hauling through brokers. The companies that pull their freight get paid detention after 2 hours. But this is good to know so I won't haul their freight.

    csmith1281 and W9onTime Thank this.

I remember hauling a load of spices in that dc years ago , on Christmas Eve , now it was 1000s of little boxes on mixed pallets but it took them 12 hours and they refused to pay anything

Took the load to get home for Christmas, LOL not so much

Walmart is on my do not haul list, all of them, for mostly that reason.

I cut Walmart and Sams off in 1987. Only hauled once to them since, and that was with my truck pulling a rail container. The rail people don't care who you are, you will pay detention after two hours.

I backed in on time, laid down in the sleeper, and in under two hours they got me up to sign my papers. I left while others that arrived with me were still there.

    csmith1281 and RStewart Thank this.

This has pretty much been my experience as well. I live unloaded in Paul's Valley, OK a few months ago & I was done in less than 2 hours. There are a couple that I won't go to from experiences I've had though.

I wish more of us would use google maps or some sort of review system. I usually leave reviews on Google maps for other drivers so they will know what they are getting themselves into

Do you need to have hazmat to be owner operator for Landstar ?
And is it true Landstar load board not on dat.com but their own is way more expensive then our load boards ?
They take 22% so it would help me to do math if it’s worth it to go under Landstar mc#
