It's good you found the right niche for what you want. Some of us are different; I love the refrigerated segment with the night driving and tight schedules and long hauls. If someone wants trucking for a career, there's something out there that's right for their wants and needs, just have to look for it.
Some drivers like a daily routine and home every day and some of us prefer running the roads.

Agreed. I am still out here running these roads but more around my natural body clock. I wore myself out with the reefer side to the point it took me almost two months to fully get back to 100%. I still make the same I did in reefer just running more miles to get it ( don't sit at shippers lol so gotta run).

And when you get past 5000 miles in a two-week pay period, you get an extra 10 cpm for each mile past 5000, plus add pays for all work and you start grossing $2700-3000 a paycheque... yeah, I'd call that gravy for a company driver.

Okay, I'll expand a bit here.

You are using your 70 hour clock each week to achieve that same mileage. 2000 miles pulling a box, sitting at customers waiting to load/unload. 3000 miles pulling a deck, being greeted like a long-lost brother at the customer, who has everyone in the yard there to help unload so they can start getting the product to the waiting customers.

I'd rather be driving getting closer to home with every click on the odomoeter, making money during my 70 hours a week than sitting at a dock with my thumb up my butt getting yelled at instead of paid for my time.

2 weeks period vs 1 week are two different things and your numbers are not accurate
