About to graduate in a few weeks (on weekend class) and I was really considering Werner ever since I learned if I go otr I don’t have to really need to be concerned with any of the dollar general or family dollar etc accounts and can do basically all no touch. But now. Oh geez this sounds even worse. No apu’s no inverters and no idling?! How is a man supposed to
Live? God forbid I wanna cook a meal, or sleep with some ac in that hot ### truck. Or maybe take some time and watch some tv for a while? Please tell me there’s something I’m missing and there’s a bright side to this. considering CFI too. But Werner has a much better tuition reimbursement program and I’m really gonna be needing that. Thank you. There’s gotta be some way to be able to
Comfortable live In these trucks without those three things...

Nope no Brightside to this , it's the way of the majority of large carrier's. Your just a piece of meat in the seat. They don't give a f about you. And the ones that boast the most about safety and caring about the driver are generally the worst.
As far as your needs for tuition reimbursement you may have to take a small hit in that area to get in with a company that actually cares a little bit about their drivers.
With summer just around the corner a company that has a diesel apu or allows idling should be a mandatory part of your selection. Good luck.

Low pay. Bad management. Bad trainers.

Seriously. Just read the multitude of Werner threads.

Yeah but you know that's every company nowadays you got good parts to a company and bad parts to a company and they actually are done quite a bit to change a lot of it

Well I’m gonna be calling my recruiter for Werner tomorrow and if they can’t guarantee me somehow I can have a way to power up. I will just have to say screw it and go with someone else. This is basic living necessities. I won’t even be able to properly run a fridge without these? And me being a big guy I’m not gonna sit here and settle for non perishables and Taco Bell every day.
