I called up Payroll as they handle this sort of stuff annnnd....they didn't know either. Suggested I speak to the main man, but I cant seem to get a hold of him. She was pretty sure that the per diem rate is 8.5 cpm so I just multiplied all my dispatched miles from 2017 by 8.5 to come up with a dollar amount but I don't know for sure if that is correct and don't want to claim more than I am entitled to so I will try calling again tomorrow.

I hope the figure I came up with is correct or at least close. If I claim unpaid per diem I get $440 back, if I only claim standard deduction I have to PAY $400.

I guess the shortfall from billionaires now being able to now claim their private jets as a business expense has to be made up somewhere so why not take it out of truck driver's pockets.

Hey gang! Thought I would chime in and say hello! I have been at Ezzell for the last year plus hauling wood pellets out of Ahoskie NC going to Portsmouth VA. 130 miles per round trip three times a day, five days a week (was doing 6 days/week for the first eight months) 12 hours a day plus an 80 mile roundtrip commute daily. I remember Rebel Chick mentioning she thought about going with Ezzell but decided against it. Good move. The work is very unsteady during the winter months. Mills are very slow, if not down. Can't make good pellets when it's cold or raining. I am seriously considering returning the highway. Trying to get a short list of companies together. Raven Express out of Jacksonville FL and Hartt Transportation out of Sumter SC and Bangor ME. Wishing you all the best. RC, sorry about your mom. My dad just had a stroke, lives in Kissimmee. Thank God my brother lives in Orlando and can check on him. My best to Johnboy and Leslie, too and all current and past Abilene-ees. Anyone ever heard from Big Brin???
