I have been looking at finding jobs on Craigslist and a few require drug and alcohol verification from past employer.
Understand the drug consortium but not alcohol verification.
What is alcohol verification ?

Thats odd?

That just means that you haven't failed a drug or alcohol test.
Suspect Zero, tscottme and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Yeah it is now a bs game to have you, the driver go back and have your former employer tell the potential employer your drug test results.
This is bs because the system is setup not to worry about negative tests. -
i get a NEW DAC every year, no matter what, and on that, it specifically states that someone has to call them to obtain that information....even i have to call, and i asked for EVERYTHING they had on me..!!!!!!
but, i ain't got no worries about it either. so i didn't bother calling.
some former employers (i have 2) simply WILL NOT disclose ANY information about me, other than time of employment! -
Feedman, slim shady, tinytim and 3 others Thank this.

In a few years this whole thing will be academic. The FMCSA will have their MRO positive database setup. This takes driver honesty, past employer's and DAC out of the picture in regard to ALL testing. Nobody with DOT authority mega, large, midsize or small will be allowed to hire or continue to employ anyone on it. This upcoming database is why I keep telling drivers to be careful in regard to on duty alcohol use and stop smoking bong. Once on this datalist it can be career ending.

By law a former employer can give no more information than the dates they worked there.
Any negative remark could lead to a defamation claim. -
in fact, it was the standard letter/form one signs at application time. so from the get go, they had my permission, they just never comply. -
