I'm new to the industry. I've been unable to find anything that will hire a new driver ("trainee") that isn't a mega company. Pay is terrible.

its very tough to start out no disagreements there. i left werner after only 3 months, for me anyways it was not worth the pay being gone from home, not at all...... but opportunities do exist. i drove dump truck and the pay wasnt too bad, problem with that is that its seasonal so now i am back in a class A driving milk truck with walton milk hauling. i make about $53k per year, home every night..... it is allot of hours though, 6 days a week 10 hours per day. for my situation it sure better then werner, i am home with the kids while the wife is at work. i am not sleeping in a truck for peanuts, but i did not fully give up on this industry.
