Got two tickets for no seat belts, one for me and one for my passenger. Do these count against me the same as a speeding ticket? Will they hurt my chances at employment?

I know in Ohio they are considered non-moving violations. They shouldn't matter I had 3 or 4 of them.

was your passenger a minor? i ask because i got one as a passenger in my sister's car (it's been quite a few years ago). the kids were all buckled up in the back seat but me and sis weren't. i got mine (because i'm a responsible adult) and she got hers.

anyways, i don't think it's a moving violation so it shouldn't cause you too much grief.

and finally, why the heck didn't you have your dam seatbelt on??!!!

while on vacation last year, westbound on I-94 in north dakota, my wife was driving the rental car and we saw an SUV suddenly swerve from the slow lane to the left shoulder back to the right shoulder and into the ditch. then it rolled TWICE. sent the wife down to the car first and i called 911, because i knew exactly where we were, and i didn't want to see what i thought she would find in there. well, we got the little gal out and she was uninjured aside from a couple little scratches. i'm convinced it's because she was wearing her seatbelt!

No, the rider was a adult.

I work c-stores with snack food products. We had left one store, traveled one city block and another 100 feet to our next customer. The cop was on a motor bike at a four way stop when he saw us.

I understand the safety of seat belts, the majority of the time I use them, but for that short trip we didn't. We pay. But I thought it was a little over the line, all things considered.

Did you pay the fines? In some states delivery drivers are exempt from wearing their seatbelts to each delivery but they have to wear it to the first one and on the way back to the office from the last one.

Haven't paid the fines, but I told him what we were doing. I will have to check on that.
    Thanks

These are non-moving violations and they may or may not effect your chances depending on the motor carrier and what they will, and/or will not accept.

How much money will you keep losing for not wearing one? Will it be a continuous thing? If so maybe you'd better win the lottery.

All you need to do is carry the statute info with you to show the cop and you will be ok.

I have never gotten a ticket for not having a seatbelt but they knew I was delivering at the time.

No, I wouldn't worry. These are usually no point tickets and not to be found on your dmv report. But may keep you out of Canada.
