Try DART, or Celadon, Swift, or Prime.

Yeah I know about them. I have buddies that went that route to get their cdl. I was going to work for a dock truck company and they told me a couple weeks ago that just for a class b it was 700. So I'm sure class a is close to 1k. I have 2 kids so with child support along with other bills I don't have any extra funds to pay for that. I've been doing snow removal this winter. Because of the lack of snow this year I haven't made much money.

The price varys based on what you need. Truck and appointment and a hour of practice to get comfortable with the truck is the cheapest. Then there is a a 4 hour plus truck and appointment. Then they go up to serious practice.

Contract Freighters www.cfidrive.com has a good reputation and their own cdl school.

TMC is flatbed and has their own cdl school. I think you're in the hiring area for students.

I've already spoke to TMC and Melton, they both are very interested in me. I would have no problems throwing chains and straps, but I'm not sure how my back will act lugging around tarps. The more I think about it I'm leaning towards by passing flatbed for now. I gotta continue to work on my core and back strength before I pursue that.

Thanks Chinatown and the rest of you guys for the help!
