Don't feel bad I had a incident last June I believe where I ended up off the road because it was dark, no street light, and mad a right turn on a street that was smaller than I expected. Was able to get out on my own power, load the truck and still make delivery on time. Went back to shop downed the truck filled out incident report. With my company it stays of my record for six months then disappears..

In fact to add a note...........

When a school takes students to a DMV facility for testing, they usually let the students take turns driving. Once that or the students pass and recieve their CDL they are no longer allowed to drive the school vehicle back to the school.

As was explained to me was the insurance for some reason stipulated that only permit drivers only are allowed to operate comercial vehicles. The instructor stated this to me and I went and checked with the school owner who confirmed it. So I thought that they both were pulling my leg and I went and called a few other people I know and they also confirmed the same thing.

    DUH.....................go figure.............:biggrin_2554:

How do you like those dolly wheels on that trailer. That was before brake chambers. The air would leak down from a dropped trailer, and when you tried to back under the trailer, it would take off.

You either scotched the tires, hooked up the air lines before backing under, or chased the trailer all over the yard trying to get under it before it hit something.

If parked on a downhill slope, you could bump the trailer, and it would take off down the hill.

I think that I would have enough incidents with those that I would be fired!

The fun part is you never knew if the air had leaked down or not unless you got out and looked at the brake shoes and slack adjusters first.

Usually if on flat ground with nothing around, you tried to back under and hoped for the best.
