Get rid of them because they cost more than they are worth. Did not have this issue with EPA98 engines and they pushed closer to a million...

Oxbow, Steel Dragon, SAR and 1 other person Thank this.

It’s easy to get sucked into the global warming/climate change debate while missing the elephant in the room. I don’t think there are many out there that think the climate does not change. The point is. can man effect that change? I say it’s absurd to think that. Could mankind effect climate change like with nuclear bombs or rector melt down yeah maybe. But the everyday guy running down the road and rolling coal? Nope. Compare what we put out against a small volcano and you think our drop in the huge bucket is going to push us into oblivion. That’s funny.
If you tree hugging, pollution control freaks actually looked at total pollution cause by your latest and greatest “clean” burning truck vers my glider that’ll puff a bit. Well.... I think you’d be surprised you might not even be cleaner.

Oxbow, rollin coal, ODR and 5 others Thank this.

Climate Change: Vital Signs of the Planet: Evidence
"The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia."

The point of DEF is to reduce NOx emissions, while DPF is for carbon particulate emissions.

Oh, is that right? And you know it's bad how?

"Cerium is effectively collected on the DPF, while SOF increases duringregeneration. ... Particulate sulfates and SO2 emissions also increase during regeneration. Globally, even if DPF regeneration increases the emission of some pollutants, this increase is not very high compared to normal engine operation conditions."
