If you like Krakaeur then read Under the Banner of Heaven. It's a true story. I've read it twice. People in my family were acquainted with the murder victim in the beginning of the book in Provo.

Its a great read, full of history.

 

LDS want to show the world that they don't have connection to FLDS... that's why this story was written by Krakaeur..

 

That's right. Like most religions go, they change and adapt with the times. The book lays out that the FLDS were the original Mormons. When polygamy was outlawed, we got LDS.

There are still some hold-outs that stick to Joseph Smith's original teaching like in Colorado City. A very weird place near the AZ border.

 

FLDS does and practice what Brigham Young's time people were doing...if they like polygamy let them have it, only no underage marriages ..

 

I have been in Colorado City and I have seen how womens are dressed. Like in 18 century...I have seen FLDS followers in Colorado state too.

No. I lived in SLC for awhile and read a lot.

 

I like Mormons. They helped me few times when I had a breakdowns on I-70...helpful people !

 

Helpful, yes. But having lived around them for so long found them to very cult like. It can get kind of creepy if look deep into it. Children get questioned by the leaders of the church about their masturbation habits, for example.
