You could allways go to Wal Mart and get you one of their cheap Acer's. I got mine for around $500 and it does all the stuff you are wanting.

It's not the best on the market but for the price you can't go wrong. Like I said I have one and I love it.

Watch the sale ads for the big box stores like Best Buy. I picked up a Sony Vaio for my 14 year-old, and only paid about that for it.

Personally, I would not buy a laptop off ebay. You don't exactly know what your getting.(unless you plan on reloading the software) Sure the ad said, blah blah blah but they could have opened that system and put something on there that you don't want. Some of those systems are refurbished and been problem child for someone else. They could have bought them for a cheap price and are selling it to you for alot more. I could go on with many more reasons but its your money.

Like some of the other folks have said, you can get some pretty good deals right now at walmart. It may not have enough memory but you can upgrade the memory. As far as GPS software, you will have to buy that on your own or find a free shareware.

I just use a wireless mouse with laptops. I didn't get along with the touch pad on my old IBM Thinkpad either.

Save your money and get a MacBook. Worth every penny. No bloat ware, Unix backbone and the darn things just work. Your Sprint aircard, if it is a USB, will plug right in and just work. No need to even load software. And all of the software you will need already comes with the machine. Actually much chaeaper than a PC, and you don't even need virus software and their monthly or yearly fee.

PC's, great boat anchors and door stops.
