    compared to the o/p's driver..uh..yeah.

when i did damage a bumper, i went to the office and reported it. boss told me, to get out, he ain't got the time. but at least, i had a clear conscience. and i know how to do a pre/post after all of what now, 40 years? can that o/p's steering wheel holder say the same?

    i think not...what else you got.>???

true (about the regen), but he STILL refused to drive another truck. that's a fireable offense. "refusing to work".

I won't read all of the responses, I'll just say, YOU go without a paycheck for 3 weeks and see what it's like.
If the dude broke your truck, run him off. But there's not many people who can go without being paid for 3 weeks.
Bring him in and let him paint the bathroom. But you still owe him

Just passing by and Hermanlmiller Thank this.

Or when he files for unemployment they say sorry, 1099 "employees" don't get unemployment.

Bigger question is why is truck in shop for 3 weeks, not good for you or driver.. you need a new shop, if they say they can't get parts you should be online and phone and find them.

I had a complete motor exchange, 3 days, replace transmission in one day.unless the truck is wrecked there is no reason to be in a shop for over a week.
You need to take charge of your business, unless your making so much that you don't need all your trucks running.

As for the day cab, I ran Otr 7 years in a day cab. It can be done.

as a matter of point, all our trucks had to be at the dealership (freightliner) for over a month at a time for regen troubles.

as it is, we have lease trucks, so the lease company gave us replacements, till ours were fixed.

so it does happen. heck, i lost my truck alone for nearly a month for the typical windshield leaks.

over a month for a new oil pan.

so yeah, it does happen. i think that since these are lease trucks, over say o/o or company trucks, we got pushed to the back of the line, so yeah, delays do happen.

True, unless the owner wanted the driver to run otr a "reimburse" for hotels and such. The owner needs to outright pay for the hotel.
There is also the fact that for some reason he cannot rent a truck from Penske. And don't try and tell me Penske can't get a sleeper by tomorrow at the latest.

No, this owner seems to me like too many others that push business expenses and risk to the driver. Can't stand people trying to run a business and push business expenses to the employee.

    we have Penske trucks!

i had one, (lovely) in my downtown Boston stops....oh joy

it was rare to get us a sleeper, we don't use them.

yes, i'd surmise the owner would pay for a motel(s) as needed.
