problem is they need an answer by 8am tomorrow morning as they are building the trailer right now and stuck on this one point before they can proceed. They expect an answer then. If legal, i'll deal with the work zones (get around them/change route), if illegal... not sure how to proceed, really dont want to drop load bearing tires.

The trailer is property carrying, securement straps are not and are therefore part of the exclusion.

Cargo-carrying unit. As used in this part, cargo-carrying unit means any portion of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) combination (other than a truck tractor) used for the carrying of cargo, including a trailer, semitrailer, or the cargo-carrying section of a single-unit truck. The length of the cargo carrying units of a CMV with two or more such units is measured from the front of the first unit to the rear of the last [including the hitch(es) between the units].

    - 23 CFR 658.5 - Definitions.

Conestogas can go to 108" legally, 3" on each side per 23 CFR Part 658 Appendix D 3(i).

the trailer/bed is ON my truck tractor and not separate from it. I guess it would be mixed in with the cargo carrying section of a single unit truck...not sure if I have any options or not

Maybe off topic but a dimension question about the same type bed . What is the legal length a bed like this can be , then how much trailer can you pull ( length) ?

the bed can be 40ft (which is impossible as it needs a cab) but overall straight truck at 40ft per min state requirement. However the vehicle/camper can overhang 6 feet over the back so 46ft. The combination can be 65 feet long with my rear rv camper trailer.

LGarrison and RV transporter Thank this.

10 4. You are correct on that one. Straps are only securement devices. I did look for a rebuttal to your post. Then the internet reached a hand out and slapped me. It said, "stupid, the answer is already posted by @not4hire.
