Well good thing you live in Canada. The land of I own a rusty knive. Because your govt does want the public owning guns. You need special permission for that.

After careful thought, the history can be tossed into the trash. When you go up and find someone with zero interest in that subject and parrots go back to France or whatever country... there is no point in continuing to reason or teach history to a stone.
I apologize for wasting some of your time.Dave_in_AZ, Lepton1, not4hire and 1 other person Thank this. -

Sorry for the interruption, but I thought I might say something about the (gasp) OP:
Two nights ago I drove from Plentywood, MT to Evansville, WY. Roads started getting really bad on Highway 59 about 50 miles north of Gillette, WY as it was getting dark. Narrow two lane road, with drifting snow obscuring the surface. Solid compact snow and ice with the occasional glimpse of the zipper or fog line.
We stopped in Gillette to change the primary fuel filter after loss of power (temperatures below zero). Then we decided the better part of valor was to stay on the big road and headed west on I-90 to catch I-25 southbound.
As soon as I got onto I-25 a truck was tailgating me. I eased on up to 55 mph and he kept right on my ###. We were deadheading with a flatbed and that trucker eventually fell back half a mile on a long climb.
I kept easy on the throttle and steering, sometimes going as much as 65 mph and sometimes slowing to 40 mph, as conditions dictated. Meanwhile that trucker behind me, with no logic pertaining to road conditions, would run up and tailgate me, then back off to half a mile or so.
As I approached Casper, WY there's that 6% downhill with the sharp turn at the bottom with an elevated road. Well before the hill the road had been 1-3" of compact snow and ice for at least the last 20 miles.
Just before the hill that trucker decided to blow past me as I slowed to 40 mph to begin the descent. He was pulling Rocky Mountain doubles. He had a hell of a time keeping those trailers straight and narrowly avoided disaster in the sharp curve at the bottom.
Stupid is as stupid does.
He pulled off at the Flying J. I don't know if he made that pass because he was in a rush due to HOS, or maybe trying to "prove a point" and got impatient because I changed speeds to maintain control. Either way I think he might have had to use the shower and at least put on a new pair of underwear.IluvCATS, Dave_in_AZ, Farmerbob1 and 3 others Thank this. -
