Bus hit by truck. Video from inside bus, complete with screams of terror:
Breanna Karstens-Smith on Twitter
Attention truck drivers: do not hit buses. Anything but the bus.
Witnesses say the crash that stopped the bus before the video was caused by another truck driver. DriveBC had issued a travel alert for that section of highway before the crash.Last edited: Feb 26, 2018

When will this episode air?
Diesel Dave and Runawayscreaming Thank this. -
First reports stated a bus clipped a slow truck which started the collision .. so at least one truck was driving properly in poor downhill conditions .. the Cpx truck hit the other bus after

I hate that stretch of road. Specifically just east of Hope where the grade feels like 15%. Scenery is nice but nobody respects the road anymore. And didn't they jack it up to 120 km/h a few years ago? DUMB!!!! The rare time I go over it I'm thankful to make it to the other side. Always lots of crashes there.
Makes for some entertaining tv though....lolMACK E-6, Oxbow, BigHossVolvo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Some of those news reports are not accurate. Chilliwack Search & Rescue said there were seven trucks (not two as reported). The bus passengers said the first bus hit a truck that slid across the road in front of them and then the rest of the trucks piled-on. According to bus passengers the trucks were traveling at excessive speed for the conditions (which is remarkable because Greyhound is always traveling at excessive speed so the trucks must have been traveling at really excessive speed if they were passing Greyhound).
None of this would have happened if the trucks were traveling at a speed at which they could safely stop if something was stopped on the road in front of them (which happens all the time on the Coquihalla). Totally stupid driving if you ask me. The way those idiots drive on snow scares me so much I sometimes wait it out when it snows. Better late than never. The number of trucks speeding out of control southbound from the snowshed/Zopkios is ridiculous. They are going so fast they could not stop on a sunny summer day. I don't think the heavy stench of burning brakes and hot rubber is very healthy either.Last edited: Feb 26, 2018

Note:
For those of you that have not been to New Brunswick they have a hill with giant magnets in it that pulls your car uphill. Amazing!Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
I watched an episode of HTH last night, I think if was S06E07 where heavy rescue had cones and emergency vehicles blocking the SB right lane at the Rock Cut for a recovery and they had to call it off because it was too dangerous at night due to the speeds the semis were barreling through the recovery zone. I guess it's a blind curve and they were going waaaay over the limit. It looked crazy. The roads were snow covered taboot.
