Say I’m governed at 64 mph and I cannot pass another truck going 64 mph. I’m just sitting out there in the left lane along side the other truck. Everyone behind us is getting angry. There’s a real big back up. Not cool. Shouldn’t the driver in the right lane tap his brakes or drop a gear? If that driver does not let me in, doesn’t he share 50% of the responsibility for the huge back up? All he has to do is tap on his brakes and the problem is solved!![]()
I can’t pass you, so you’ll make room

Governed trucks have no business in the left lane, period.

Oh boy. This subject comes up frequently. And usually it's about a 50/50 split between positions and typically gets somewhat heated a few pages into the discussion. Good luck. I no longer participate in these discussions to the point of expressing an opinion and saying that "every subject scenario is different"
Farmerbob1, okiedokie, Eowyn and 5 others Thank this. -
I agree. It’s not your fault that I tried to pass. But now that I’m just hanging out next to you, blocking the interstate, it’s now your problem too.
RustyChops41, UturnGirl and skellr Thank this. -

Sometimes you have to be the better personJoetro, Badmon, nightgunner and 18 others Thank this. -
If your truck is governed to the point of not being able to pass in a timely manner, ie 30 seconds or less.
If your truck is governed at 75, then I doubt you will have a hard time passing anyone.BigBob410, WildTiger1990, Diesel Dave and 11 others Thank this. -
At the end of the day do you think you will have made enough time from passing that truck to wipe your but one more time when you stop to take a dump?
And somehow it should be the other drivers problem?Joetro, spyder7723, justcarhaulin and 9 others Thank this. -
OK, here is another scenario. you are in the hills and one of you is heavy and one is light and you keep playing leap frog every hill. Basically we are going the same speed.
Just slow down and get away from the situation.
