Oh boy. This subject comes up frequently. And usually it's about a 50/50 split between positions and typically gets somewhat heated a few pages into the discussion. Good luck. I no longer participate in these discussions to the point of expressing an opinion and saying that "every subject scenario is different"

 

So if I'm governed at 75mph, and I come up on a prime truck doing his normal 49.5 mph according to you I'm not allowed in the left lane to pass him?

 

Well instead of being 2 jerks, you could be the better professional and slow down and get back in right lane. What may seem like common sense and courtesy isn't always right, or obvious.

I guess I have to spell it out.
If your truck is governed to the point of not being able to pass in a timely manner, ie 30 seconds or less.
If your truck is governed at 75, then I doubt you will have a hard time passing anyone.

 

Why do you want to pass like that in the first place? Where do you think you are going to go?

At the end of the day do you think you will have made enough time from passing that truck to wipe your but one more time when you stop to take a dump?

And somehow it should be the other drivers problem?

 

OK, here is another scenario. you are in the hills and one of you is heavy and one is light and you keep playing leap frog every hill. Basically we are going the same speed.

Just slow down and get away from the situation.
