CB Radio shops

Years ago there was a guy in a bus that ran around salt lake-wendover area that was awesome reasonable rates and a great warranty... Is he still around ??

 

I'm not even a tech and I have more gear than 98% of the so-called shops out there.

Have used them 21-Years since they were up in Mineral Wellls just west of Fort Worth off IH20 x370 next to the Bar-B truckstop.

You won’t go wrong, and Robert is one of the best installation & antenna techs you’ll find.

Head inside shop to counter and fill out paperwork. Almost always a line of others.

Clay, Robert and counter personnel all good to visit with when they’re in between the days jobs.

There may be better, but good luck finding them. Ray at West Memphis only other tech I ever found worth patronizing.

He'll I just bought an old Sencore CB-42 and had a tech refurbish it lol

 

I thinkk I bought this new I believe back in 89 or 90. Have a Cushman CE3 also

 

You do realize something that old isn’t good enough for doing alignments on cb radios. At least not today’s radios.... LOL. Looks great for its age, very nice.

 

not good enough for a cb radio, hmmmm, was jusr calibrated by Motorfungus, still well within spec, but I would suppose a new midland swr bridge would be better

 

Ran with a tanker a ways thru Az a while back,he had one of the best sounding radio's I've ever heard out here.

He said he got his work done at that hoods in Mo. off the 44.

 

Dang, I knew I should have bought that Midland SWR bridge on fleebay last week. I’ve got so many meters now that it wasn’t a big loss. You don’t see the Motorola service monitors up for sale very often. I’m sure you’ve had that one for awhile, and it’s obviously had good care. I keep looking at the IFR 1200’s that are for sale, but they aren’t cheap either. Especially the ones that are calibrated. As a hobbyist I can’t justify buying one. So I will keep plugging away with my Marconi 2018, oscope, fluke freq counter, bird meter, etc etc. A service monitor sure would free up a lot of room on the bench. I’ll probably never catch up to Delta5 though...LOL.
