@Tug Toy,
My dad has that same bypass filter on his rebuilt ISX with 1.2 million. He has over 100K on the oil. The motor uses less than a gallon every 30k. He is pleased with it.

Section repair won't ever last. I'd junk it. Come summer it will pop if not sooner.

I had good luck with them in my experience. I hauled scrap for 3 years so l have a little experience with flat repairs lol. I try to run decent tires though. I wouldn't bother trying a section repair on a chinese tire. I also deal with local tire shops so l'm not completely in the dark about who's doing the work.

I had bad luck with one. I even remember liking retreads as long as they were my casings. Had some a few years ago. They did awesome until that 3rd year. I knew the tread was getting thin and probably on borrowed time. I kinda let go the routine checking air pressures then, no surprise, after a summer of hard running had 3 of them pop within a couple of weeks. Lol. Totally my fault though. Luckily no damages.

My trucks is a pretty bad ride I've been trying to get informed on what makes for a good ride instead of just changing parts.
What have you replaced that has made the biggest difference in the way your truck rides?singlescrewshaker and Tug Toy Thank this. -
Find a shop that specializes in alignments. I did that last year with my truck and they inspected it and had me reschedule after I had tie rods bushings replaced, realign my leaf springs, and added new shocks. Then they could do a proper alignment.singlescrewshaker and Tug Toy Thank this. -
Last year was my first year as an o/o and finding a good shop has been my biggest challenge. Im still looking actually. I found that unless I tell them what the problem is and how I want it fix it's not going to get done right. Finding a mechanic that can diagnose properly and takes pride in their work is a fairy tale as far as I'm concerned.
I can read a manual and fix things myself but I don't have access to a shop. Tug toy is truly blessed that his boss allows him to use his shop.
singlescrewshaker, Tug Toy and Lepton1 Thank this.
