Prime Inc vs TMC

Hmm.. I know Prime drivers that came from TMC and think it's a better place. And I know Prime drivers that went to TMC and think it's a better place.

There are big differences between the two. What flavor of cool-aide do you prefer?

Nither is really that great.

 

Prime has you buy your own flatbed equipment $3k+- for minimum $50 tarp pay as a company driver which wasn't bad 10 years ago... I'm not sure what TMC pays for tarping but they supply the equipment.

TMC trucks are usually faster than Prime trucks. Not that it should be a big issue, but it will help your sanity a bit more in rolling hills.

TMC trucks are much cleaner, in a Military fashion, than Prime trucks.

I think TMC gives you a choice between mileage pay or cpm? Prime is lower cpm +Per Diem.

I think TMC has better flatbed securement training.

I’ve talked with drivers from both companies and never heard a disparaging thing from a real live person. Online you can find complaints. One TMC driver was paid on percentage and told me he makes more because he’s super motivated. TMC drivers have helped me secure just to past the time at a shipper. I think that’s the kind of people I would want to work with. TMC trucks are nice but are governed low. Prime is also governed low.
