I dont believe its possible to be half an inch off nor do I believe they would write you for half an inch. If your load is only 5000 lbs then you have no excuse.
So these ######## in California, were correct if your over length. And that would make you the ######## not themLast edited: Feb 27, 2018
diesel drinker, MarkH129, Tolmie and 2 others Thank this. -

With only 5k lbs, you should've had your trailer tandems slid as far forward as possible and the CHP wouldn't have batted an eye.
Anytime you roll across the scales in California, you better have all your ducks in a row because they are always looking for anything that's wrong.MarkH129 Thanks this. -
I had a ticket for being two inches long about five years back. At the time the lawyer cost me $250 and the fine cost me $290. The lawyer wasn't any good.
I remember doing some internet searching to find out how much the fine was going to be. I didn't have any trouble finding it. -
I don’t understand why y’all are being so aggressive. I’m simply asking if anyone knows what the ticket prices are for a tandem vilolation.
I wasn’t overweight obviously because it’s only a 5,000 pound load lol
Ticket says 40’8” and the legal Kpra is 40”
So I was just over a half of a inch off. -
FYI while I was standing in the coop getting a ticket they pulled another truck in for having his air lines too low. I guess they have a laser or something. Either that or a pretty good eye.

Its a bridge law violation, in 30 years of driving its one of the tickets I haven't received. 2.5 panels from the rear of the trailer is how they spot that, it is what they do.
DSK333 Thanks this.
